Non Surgical face lift PDO Thread lifting

What is Thread Lifting?

Thread lifting is the insertion of multiple Biodegradable threads that lift the sagging tissue to give a non-surgical mini face or neck lift.Thread lifting can re-define facial contours and induce collagen production. With no hospital stay and minimal downtime this procedure offers a quick, effective solution for those considering a facelift or who now require more than just facial fillers.

Which areas are treatable using PDO threads?

The PDO thread therapy can be used to enhance and improve the appearance of the following areas:

Upper and lower cheeks
Foreheads (brow lifting)
Jawline
Neck
Tear trough
Naso-labial folds
Marionette lines

Is thread lifting suitable for me?

Thread lifting is suitable for men and women between the ages of 40 and 70. The procedure is most effective on skin that has minimal to moderate sagging and offers the best results for cheeks, jowls, brows and the neck area. If you are worried about traditional surgery or do not want a general anaesthetic then a thread lift is an alternative option as it is minimally invasive and can be carried out under local anaesthetic.

What are the risks?

No surgical procedure is without risk. Thread lifts can cause minor side effects such as infection, bruising, swelling, tenderness, numbness and slight asymmetry.

What can I expect?

The first part of the process will be a thorough consultation and assessment appointment, where we take a medical history and discuss your treatment options. At your treatment appointment a strong local anaesthetic (injection form) will be administered to ensure you have minimal discomfort during your procedure. A typical thread lift takes about one hour to perform depending on the number of threads being used and the areas being treated.

After the procedure?

Once the procedure is complete you will be provided with post treatment instructions specific to your treatment. Most patients experience some mild swelling and bruising, but these are usually quick to settle. Recovery times are usually less than one week.

How long do the results last?

A thread lift’s lasting power depends on the age of the patient at the time of procedure and how much sagging the thread lift has corrected. Sagging will return over time, but many doctors report that the results last for anything between 2 – 3 years. To extend the results it is possible to have additional threads inserted, we can advise you when this is required.

Skin Rejuvenation using PDO threads

The use of (non cogged) threads can also be used to offer skin rejuvenation. Inserting the threads in a criss cross pattern will boost collagen production to the area creating a natural volume, lift and increased elasticity over time. The procedure can be performed as a stand alone treatment or in conjunction with the non surgical face lift.
